On completion of the full courses at the Vluggen Institute and passing the mandatory exams before the independent Registry for Equine Diplomate Osteopaths International (REDOI) exam committee, you may register with REDOI and after registration allowed to use the international trademark and quality mark Equine Osteopath EDO® !
Veterinarian Route:
A consecutive 14 module Equine Osteopathic education of four days per module, four times per year (with 32 contact hours and 40 study hours per module) totaling over 1000 hrs. of intensive education, study, and hands-on practicing.
Intended Audience: Veterinarians, Osteopaths D.O., Dr. of Medicine, Dr. of Chiropractic, physical therapists, nurses, and those with comparable educational backgrounds with a fundamental understanding and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, endocrinology, and pathology.
The courses are developed consecutively in numerical order, since each module builds on the previous one. Upon successful completion of the Equine Osteopathy program, graduates can choose to pursue additional education in Canine Osteopathy (3 modules, 4-5 days/module) to learn the specific osteopathic differences, approach and physiological needs of the canine.
Non-Veterinarian Route:
A consecutive 16 module Equine Osteopathic education of five days per module, four times per year (with 40 contact hours and 40 study hours per module) over 4 years.
Specifically tailored with propaedeutic modules in anatomy, physiology, neurology, and endocrinology for understanding the osteopathic philosophy, principles and biomechanics. Totaling 1280 hrs. of intensive education, study, and hands-on practicing.
Intended Audience: Bodyworkers, massage therapists, Equine Touch and Bowen therapists, Masterson Method practitioners, cranio-sacral therapists, farriers, dentists, veterinary technicians, and all other comparably certified equine practitioners.

It is our goal and mission to promote and educate Equine Osteopathy as an independent trade as it is formulated and regulated with verifiable high-level standards and scientific foundation by the Registry for Equine Diplomate Osteopaths International (REDOI), complementary to and in conjunction with veterinary medicine.
